The Heterodox Research Society is our 501(c)(3) non-profit arm, focused on research and cultural engagement with a thematic focus on scientific epistemology and fringe, often-ridiculed areas of inquiry. Inspired by the words of Paul Feyerabend, we believe science must embrace the sort of anarchism inherent to man’s inquiry into nature, and indeed, that the ossification of methodology has led us into a trap of cultural malaise and stagnation.
We believe science and natural philosophy are wonderful expressions of our primitive instinct to engage with and explore nature’s patterns. They can be rich and metaphysical; they can be creative and not entirely explainable.
We are in the early stages of building our more specific research programs, building out our philosophy + science lab space in Norfolk, Virginia, and hosting and attending further events to engage in discourse around related themes.
